Now that you understand why fall prevention at homes is important, let's first identify risks, so that you know exactly what to work on. Most houses are designed based on the needs of early adult lives. Different sections of the house serve different purposes. Navigating bathrooms, living rooms and bedrooms each pose unique challenges. Let's look at them one by one.

A lot of people think they can navigate their house with their eyes closed. That is probably true. But what about navigating with an assistive device that they have never had before?
Bathrooms can be the most challenging spot in the house to make changes. Usually the space is small so there isn't a lot of room to accomodate new things. Bathrooms are where people appreciate their independence and privacy.
